Here we go.

This is the first step in what should hopefully be a long journey.  Welcome to GreenBrandywine.com!

Geese on the BrandywineToday is 'Day 1' for this website.  My name is Mark Landon.  Together with Marc Bevis, I'm putting this site together.  Our goal is to be the definitive source for information about carbon reduction, renewable energy, sustainability and related 'Green Topics,' focused on Chester County and the Brandywine Valley.

If you are local, you know how beautiful this part of the world is.  This is the lush rolling countryside.  We have horse farms and housing developments.  We have small cities (Coatesville in Pennsylvania and Wilmington Delaware).  We have thriving town centers, we have suburban housing developments and a great deal of stunningly beautiful open space.  Chester County and the Brandywine Valley represent the 2nd tier suburbs to the west of Philadelphia.

Marc and I share an interest in preserving the sustainability of this region and the world.  We both 'believe in' climate change, and we believe that it is our generation's responsibility to take action towards reducing the use of fossil fuels that we all use in order to slow the process and reduce the impact to the Earth.

We also believe that it is possible, and probably necessary, to show people that saving the Earth is directly tied to saving money.  In other words, we will discuss the ROI of taking Green steps in great detail.

This site is in its infancy.  Please help us to grow.  Use the 'contact us' link to let us know what you would like to see on this site.  We also ask for your help in keeping our Calendar of Events up to date and for providing us information on additional vendors  for our directories.    Most of all, please don't hesitate to let us know what we're doing wrong, and what we're doing right.  Your opinion really matters here.  We hope you will enjoy this site and return often.  There is much more to come.

In a future posting, I'll go over a lot more specifics about what we expect to add to the site in the not-too-distant future.  Meanwhile, this is the very first step, and you were there.
