FSC Certification & Local Sourcing of Wood Products for Green Building Location: Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 Presenters: Jason Shuey, Forest Products Marketing Specialist, Rainforest Alliance (PA Certified Forest Products Initiative) Keith Atherholt, President of Lewis Lumber Products Gwen Langdon, Chain of Custody Associate, Rainforest Alliance (SmartWood Program) Program: Are you interested in learning about sustainable forest management, especially Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and the FSC chain-of-custody? Are you a LEED Accredited Professional or procurement manager interested in learning how to more effectively source FSC-certified building materials especially from local forests and mills that can increase the number of LEED credits you earn? Are you working for a wood products operation that would like to learn more about what it takes to be FSC-certified, what marketing opportunities exist, and what the various FSC labels mean? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then this 2 hour workshop is for you! The workshop will made up of a panel with 3 speakers who will cover the basics and then some. Time for questions will follow the presentations and people of all levels of knowledge on the subject are sure to learn something from this workshop.
