About Us

GreenBradywine.com is the work of two Brandywine Valley residents interested in sustainability, carbon reduction, reducing our country's reliance on foreign oil, and preserving the beauty of our local environment.

We believe that 'being green' involves making investments in our homes, businesses, and public buildings and that these investments will pay us back by saving us money and saving our planet. These two results go hand in hand and both 'savings' must be present for most people to make the investments.

The focus of this website is to connect local consumers with the information they need to make sustainable decisions. We hope to inspire the residents of our region to make informed, enlightened buying decisions. We hope to help the many business people who are offering sustainable products and services to thrive. We hope to do this with a fun and positive voice.

Mark Landon grew up in Delaware County and has lived in the region all of his life. He is a graudate of Ridley High School and the Pennsylvania State University.

Mark was co-founder and CTO of Educational Directories Unlimited, Inc. (EDU), a producer of online recruitment tools for higher education where he wore many hats. During his tenure at EDU, he had his hands in sales, marketing, product development, site design, database design, and server administration, just to name a few. Prior to starting up EDU, he was involved in advertising sales for various print media.

For the past couple of years, Mark has grown a strong interest in reducing the use of fossil fuels through conservation, efficiency and the use of alternative energy sources.  Mark's involvement in this website is with the hope that he can help others to see the benefits of these actions.

Mark lives in Birmingham Township with his wife, daughter, two dogs (Jack and Moly, pictured with Mark) and two cats, in a house with a Groundsource Heatpump. One of their cars is a Prius.

Global warming inspired Marc to get involved with GreenBrandywine.com.  Global warming is an issue of huge dimensions that needs to be addressed at a high level by governments and their policies all the way down to individual citizens of the world making their daily choices that affect their carbon footprint.

While there is no “silver bullet” for global warming, technology will be part of the solution.  To this end, Marc is leveraging his education and experience.   He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA.  This led to design, marketing, and sales experience in the high-tech world of semiconductors and software.  He has been involved with a variety of the semiconductor chips used in computers, cell phones, heart pacemakers, Mars explorer, etc.  A lot of software is used in these designs, so Marc has been immersed in Information Technology as well.  This experience is very applicable to areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the smart grid.

Marc has lived in California, Texas, Minnesota, Mexico, France, and Malaysia. He enjoys the green open spaces of Chester County and theBrandywine Valley as a unique asset not found anywhere else he has lived. Home for Marc is in East Marlborough Township with his wife, 2 children, a dog, and a bird.  Occasional visitors include rabbits, deer, and fox.
